History, Timings And Route Info Of Nimishamba Temple

Nimishamba temple is located on the banks of the kaveri river, located about 2 km from Srirangapattana on the road leading to Sangam in the state of karnataka. Nimishamba is considered as the incarnation of Goddess Parvathi, the consort of Lord shiv.There is a belief that Nimishamba Mata is going to solve all the difficulties and troubles of her devotees within a minute. That is why she is known as NimishambaNimisha means a minute and Amba is the name of Parvathi.

This temple was buit during 1578 – 1617 by king of mysore, Mummadi krishnraja wodeyar. This temple is 400 years old.

Morning Hours : 06:30 am to 12:00 pm

Evening Hours : 04:00 pm to 08:30 pm

Waiting Time For Darshan : 30 to 45 mins.

Ticket : There is no entry fees.

Note: Special days like Navratri days, full moon days, weekends, fridays are very crowded.

Festivals Of Nimishamba Temple Mysore :

Nimishamba jayanthi –  It is celebrated on Vaishaka Shuddha Dasami of every year. The festival is also celebrated as “Vasavamba jayanthi” by arya vsyas.

Special Pooja is done on major festival days like Shivaratri, Ugadi, and Deepavali. This temple gives free meals to all the devotees on every full moon day.
